Freedom Candlemaker - Ageless: A journey of self-discovery and empowerment
Freedom Candlemaker, the multi-instrumentalist and visionary artist, is set to release Ageless, his highly anticipated full-length album. Following his 2019 release Beaming Light, Ageless marks a bold new chapter in his creative evolution. Three years in the making, this album captures both his musical and spiritual growth.
Ageless invites listeners on a transformative journey, exploring themes of self-empowerment, awakening, and breaking free from societal expectations. Its introspective lyrics touch on the dissolution of illusions, the healing of personal wounds, and the search for genuine connection. With a narrative of transcendence and change, Ageless creates an emotional space where vulnerability and strength meet.
Blending atmospheric and ambient rock, the album weaves lush synths, soulful rhythms, and gentle piano into rich, immersive soundscapes. Tracks like “Wounds” and “Painting” feature sweeping string arrangements that add a cinematic quality to the experience. The music shifts between thunderous rhythms and ethereal ballads, reflecting the emotional highs and lows of personal growth, with echoes of art rock, neo-psychedelia, and dream pop.
"Ageless invites you on a journey of self-exploration,” says Freedom Candlemaker. “It’s about shedding imposed layers and finding strength in our vulnerability. This album reflects my personal evolution, and I hope it inspires others to break free from societal constraints and reconnect with their true essence."
The album also features notable collaborations that deepen its impact. British drummer Seb Rochford (Polar Bear, Sons of Kemet) brings his distinctive rhythmic mastery to “Lose Myself,” while renowned Greek violinists Fiotis Siotas and Dimitris Foken lend their magic on Painting and Wounds, with Foken also contributing electric guitar. The rich vocal arrangements are further enhanced by the silky backing vocals of artists Nama Dama and Tamara van Esch.
